Forcing formula on moms?

This morning I was shocked, upset, annoyed, stupefied and pissed all at once when my letter-carrier handed me a box from Enfamil containing a free full size tin of formula. I have requested twice now via email to have my name removed from there mailing list. So this time I called them and once again they promised not to send me anything...

Do we believe them?

Isn't is unbelievable what formula companies do! I always donate it to the food bank or a womens shelter, at least that makes me feel good!

I realize that it is very frustrating to continue to recieve this stuff esp. when you have chosen and been able to breast feed.... however, don't forget that there are a lot of moms out there that simply cannot breast feed regardless of how much they want to!

I agree Pierrette, we constantly get formula sent to us, not to mention we received a gift from the church at Christmas which included formula, and they know I breastfeed!
I just bring anything I don't want/need to my baby groups and give it to the moms who are unable to breastfeed.
These big companies don't know how to listen!

I just wanted to add this to my post...

The reason why I was upset is that I had previously specifically asked them not to send me anything and they ignored my request. I understand that in some cases formula is a must however too many moms give up too soon and I personally find that all the pressure from formula companies do not help moms that are having a hard time with breast-feeding We need the same about of press and advertising about breast-feeding so that all moms who want to breast-feed know were to get assistance. That said I understand that some moms just can't; one of my friends was in that situation she truly could not breast feed and there is nothing she will ever be able to do about it no matter how hard she tries; so yes formula does has its place for some.
