President Choice Organics

I love PC organics. (For those of you that live outside Canada, PC is a grocery store brand that has an organics line). When you are trying to buy only organic food for your household, the grocery bill can go up fast. Taking a quick walk to the No Frills located at Gerrard and Coxwell in our neighborhood to pick up some staples every week helps a lot. Below is a comparison list of the items bought at No Frills vs. buying them with Front Door Organics (this is where we get the most of the rest of our groceries).

No Frills
Bag of carrots - $2.29
Cheese (they have cheddar and mozzarella) - $3.99
Butter - $3.99
Apple Sauce - $2.33
Jam (they have raspberry and blueberry) - $2.69
Maple syrup - $11.99
Bag of apples - $3.49
Baby Carrots - $1.99
Celery - $2.99

Total - $35.75

Front Door Organics
Bag of carrots - $3.94
Cheese cheddar - $6.50
Butter - $4.75
Apple Sauce - $4.99
Jam - $3.50
Maple syrup - $12.00
Bag of apples - $6.99
Baby Carrots - $3.00
Celery - $3.94

Total - $49.61

That is a difference of $13.86. Yay for PC Organics.

Busy Times

Lost has happened since my last post...

Last Sunday Christophe went for his first "walk". We had been out and about many times but never for the purpose of walking. We bundled up Christophe and took the bug out with the bassinet, we ended up walking all the way up to the Danforth and picking up a few grocery items from a small market there.

On Tuesday this week we had a midwife appointment. Christophe weighed in at 8lb 2oz. He is growing too fast a few of his smaller onesies are already too small and a few pj's are getting there. It was Sara's last day as a student so it was nice to see her one last time. She is going to make a fantastic midwife. Sara said we can start weaning him off the formula so we have been doing one feed with formula one without. Most times (well 50% of the time) that we offer him formula he refuses it. After the visit we went up to my work to show him off to my colleagues and pick up a few items that I had left behind due to his unexpected arrival.

My sister called to let us know she is coming for a short visit. She will be arriving on Sunday and staying for a few days; I am excited to have her over.

On Wednesday we had a very exciting day... we started at the Big Carrot to pick up some food, the traveled to Queen street to go to Baby on the Hip were we picked up some disposable diapers, disposable wipes, flash cards and cloth wipes. The disposable stuff is for when we hit the town we only use cloth at the house. After that we stopped in at The Upper Crust for Supper and popped in to my pre-natal yoga classes to say hi.

In the mix of all of that I still found time to take some photographs of my favorite little guy.

Update - Early Labour

I just had a hour long nap now I am hungary and waiting for Geoff to get home. He went out to pick up some groceries so we would have some food in the house as I was planning on going grocery shopping tonight.

Since the last post the midwives came by my BP is fine however they will re-check it tomorrow morning to be safe. The contraction that I once did not even notice are now accompanied with back ache and mild cramping.

Around 8pm or so we called Christie because I had some "bloody show" so she came to check on me once again. BP still fine now 3cm dilated and 65% effaced.

The Birth pool arrived I will ask Geoff to post a picture if he has time. They came in to do an emergency pool installation for us. The couple that came to install the pool was very kind and so far I would recommend them to anyone. You can get more information about there pools here.

After the pool was installed Geoff when off to pick up some groceries after I made a list will all my special request and he also stopped by Kim and Basil's to make sure the car seat is properly installed.

The midwives want me to try to rest, when I am not resting try to time the contractions and count babies movements.

Well I am off to see if I can have another nap.
